IIM Bangalore finds a place among the top 50 B-schools in the world
Colleges in Bangalore are among the best in the world. The fact is proven right yet again by a recent global-level ranking of MBA colleges.
As per the Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Rankings 2019, four Indian B-schools have found a place among the top 50 management schools in the world. Among the four entrants, the Indian School of Business (ISB) has achieved the highest position with a global ranking of 24. ISB improved its rankings from the last year by jumping four places up on the list.
The other three entrants from India include the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore (at the 33rd place), IIM-A (at 47th) and IIM-C (at 49th place). To some, this ranking may come as a surprise given how ISB has managed to topple the premier IIMs from their top positions. However, like last year, the total number of B-schools is still four in the list of top 100 management schools in the world.
Among the top 100, the US has the maximum entries with as many as 51 B-schools finding a place in the list followed by the UK which has 11 colleges. China, however, has fared better than India with six colleges to the list while France could able to do marginally better than the US at five schools.
However, yes, India outperformed top countries like Australia, Germany, and Canada that have three entries each in the top 100 list. The rankings are a clear indication of where management education stands in this country that has over 4000 B-schools in total. With only four making it to the top 100, it surely does not paint an encouraging picture for a country with that vast potential.
