Pros and Cons of the Speaking section in PTE:

If you still haven’t heard about the Pearson’s test of English, please crawl out of your little shell and seek immediate assistance! The PTE is relatively new to the market, but not so new that such ignorance can be excused. In fact, if you’ve never heard about this English exam you are losing out on what probably is the best thing to have happened, in recent memory, to language proficiency testing.

Advantages:

Automated: The most appealing factor about this section of the PTE Test of English is the absence of a personal rater! It is very hard for a student, whose native language isn’t English, to sit in front of an English expert and talk for an extended period of time. Do you agree? If not, we will gladly direct you to the PTE after you waste valuable resources on other English tests. For those who want to be prudent and get done with this test on their first attempt, believe me! It is infinitely easier to talk to a machine that isn’t instantly judging every uttered word.
Leniency: A machine is not only nonjudgmental, but is also very lenient. From general surveys it has been noted that students always obtain more marks than expected on their PTE Academic speaking test. However, one should remember to speak clearly and fluently since the machine will stop recording if there is a three second gap between words. This should not be a cause for concern. Three seconds are longer than you think. Try saying 1hippopotamus, 2hippopotamus, 3hippopotamus… That’s how long it takes for a machine to stop recording. Don’t try to be very clever with your speech. Clear is more important than clever.
Varied sections: The varied sections of the speaking test actually make it easier to get through this portion of the PTE Academic India. You are already prepared for the type of question, which isn’t the case with a personal examiner who will ask questions according to their whims and fancies.
Disadvantages:

Lack of privacy: If you are in a room with many students you may face the difficulty of talking while others are doing the same. Concentration is all-important for any English proficiency test. If you can concentrate, the problem of having a full classroom isn’t a problem at all. Also remember that mics are programmed to cancel outside noises and pick your voice exclusively. Another useful tip is to book your PTE slot on a weekday to increase your chance of being seated in a relatively empty classroom.
Now that you know why students are opting for the PTE Academic over other tests, you can go ahead and book your date ASAP! To receive a 10% discount on the market price please contact your nearest AECC Global office or get in touch with us over telephone. Buy the PTE voucher from us and pay just Rs.9,810 instead of Rs.10,990.
