PTE – Student Identification and Rules

PTE Academic India is known for its flawless verification of a student’s identity to uphold the integrity of the examination. The administrators of the test go the extra mile to ensure this unique facet of the PTE is not compromised. With the state of the art palm vein screening system it is not hard to see the effort put into making this exam cheat-free. Electronic signature capture pads and a test day photograph boost PTE’s security reinforcements. For your admit card you will be required to carry ID, which should contain the following details:

Your chosen PTE Academic ID should be government issued
It should not have expired
It should contain your name in roman alphabets (English)
Your name, date of birth and country of citizenship should match the information entered to formerly create your account
Should bear a recent photo of you and must be easily recognizable
Possess your signature. If your ID does not have a signature, you will be required to carry a second document that has your signature in order to aid the electronic signature capture pad.
The above procedures will be observed before you enter the exam hall. On entering the exam hall you will be required to adhere to a set of rules and regulations, failing which you can be debarred from the PTE Academic exam. Although, the exam can incite fear and anxiety (if you haven’t read the previous blog post on how to tackle the exam day with composure) you will be required to pay heed to the following:

The test centre will not permit the use of intoxicants or tobacco within its premises
Do not ask for, give or take assistance form anyone when seated in the PTE exam hall
Do not use cheat chits, notes or any such written material during the test or in the course of your break
Using a proxy to take your test is against the law and can be viewed as a criminal offence
Do not manipulate the computer in any way
You are not allowed to write down questions with the intention of giving them to the next test taker.
PTE is gaining popularity by leaps and bounds. Its recognition in top schools such as Harvard, Yale and INSEAD have made it an instant hit. Though its name is sung far and wide, it still happens to be the cheapest and easiest test to achieve the required band scores. PTE Academic will cost you Rs.10,990, which is cheaper than IELTS. If you access this link to book your seat for the PTE Academic India you will receive a 10% discount on the market price, bring the price of this test down to Rs.9,810.
