Speaking Section of the PTE: Retell Lecture

Remember those days gone by when you sat in class engrossed in your own musing, only to be spotted by your teacher and asked to repeat what she just said? With some help from students sitting by your side, you probably managed to fumble your way through the last sentence uttered by your teacher. This is exactly what you are not supposed to do! Essentially the idea is the same - Listen to a lecture and repeat it in your own words. But the lack of attention and integrity is far from what is required of you for the PTE test.

On beginning this subsection of your test, you will be shown a picture and given 3 seconds to look at it before commencement of the lecture. The PTE lecture will last for about 10 seconds; after which you will be given 40 seconds to record your answer. Below are some tips to crack this subsection of your PTE Academic India:

Observe the image intently: The image on screen will depict the topic of the PTE Academic lecture. You can gain a rough idea regarding the content of the lecture by looking at the image. The lecture, which you will hear after the initial 3 seconds, will not seem entirely new to you. You will also be able to understand and retain more information.

Utilize the next 40 seconds thoroughly and wisely: If you look at the picture and understand the lecture, you will have no trouble with this subsection. However, being human, you may make certain mistakes while talking. Do not go back and correct these errors since this will result in loss of valuable time. Instead, use this time to explain the PTE Academic lecture thoroughly and let the machine deal with your mistakes.
