Writing Section of the PTE: Write Essay
Writing a scholarly essay requires practice. For the PTE Academic India exam, you will be required to write an essay based on the subject in question. It goes without saying that your essay should contain an introductory paragraph, a well-constructed body and an interesting conclusion. Apart from these essay writing conventions, it will benefit you to pay heed to the following instructions:
Pay attention to key words:
Your question will comprise of a lengthy couple of sentences. Read them carefully to understand the subject of the question. These sentences will give you enough information to get your mental wheels turning. Prepare your introduction, which should emphasize on the topic being discussed or your stance on a debatable topic. Make sure to add important, logically arranged points in the body. Your conclusion should leave the reader in wonder. You can end by affirming your stance, but that would seem pedestrian. Come up with an interesting conclusion. It will add to the competency of your PTE Academic essay.
Pay attention to the last line of your question:
There is no more important phrase in this PTE question than the last sentence. It is here that you will find the crux of the question. Do not ignore this sentence! If you answer the question in your own fashion and it turns out to be different from what was asked, you will receive no score for this subsection of your PTE test of English. E.g. if the question requires you to pick a side on a debatable topic and talk for it, but you write a general essay, giving points for and against the topic, your answer will not be graded.
