How is Vocabulary Range scored in the ‘Write Essay’ subsection of the PTE  

Not many sections in the PTE will test your vocabulary. However, in this section your vocabulary will be tested and graded based on the following criteria:

1 - if your vocabulary is sufficient to express your thoughts on a PTE Academic topic, but the lack of precision leads you to beat around the bush before arriving at the intended rendezvous of your intent and your acumen, you will receive a score of 1.

0 - fishing for words that vaguely convey your thoughts will not fetch any points for ‘Vocabulary’.
